Rohan and the Lamp

Once upon a time, in a quiet little village, there lived a young boy named Rohan. Rohan loved helping others. Whether it was carrying water for his grandmother or sharing his snacks with his friends, he always found joy in making others happy.

One sunny morning, while playing near the river, Rohan noticed something shiny half-buried in the sand. Curious, he dug it out and discovered a beautiful golden lamp. It sparkled so brightly in the sunlight that it looked like a tiny sun in his hands.

Rohan thought, What a pretty lamp! This will make a great gift for Grandma. As he rubbed the lamp to clean off the dirt, a soft glow surrounded it. Suddenly, a tiny, cheerful creature popped out! It was not a genie but a glowing, butterfly-like spirit named Lumi.

“Hello, kind boy!” chirped Lumi. “I am the Guardian of the Lamp. Because you have a kind heart, you may ask for three wishes.”

Rohan’s eyes widened in wonder. “Anything I wish for?”

“Anything,” Lumi replied with a wink. “But choose wisely. Your wishes should come from the heart.”

Rohan sat under a tree to think. He saw a thirsty bird hopping nearby and said, “For my first wish, I wish for a small, magical pond in our village where all animals and people can drink clean water whenever they need.”

Lumi clapped her tiny hands, and poof! A sparkling pond appeared near the village square. The bird flew to it happily, chirping with delight.

For his second wish, Rohan remembered how hard it was for his grandma to fetch firewood every day. “I wish for a magical stove for my grandma, so she never has to worry about firewood again.”

Lumi spun in the air, and a shiny golden stove appeared in their kitchen. Grandma smiled so big that it made Rohan’s heart feel warm.

For his last wish, Rohan looked around at his village. Everyone seemed happy, but he noticed something. Some children didn’t have toys to play with. He said, “For my final wish, I want every child in the village to have a toy that makes them smile.”

Lumi twirled, and in every home, children found colorful toys waiting for them. The village rang with laughter and joy.

“You have a rare gift, Rohan,” Lumi said. “Most people would wish for riches or power. But your kind heart chose to help others. That is the true magic in this world.”

With that, Lumi returned to the lamp, and the lamp turned into a glowing star that floated into the sky.

From that day on, the villagers remembered Rohan not for the magic lamp, but for his kindness that made their lives brighter.
