Once upon a time, there was a little cloud named Puffy. Puffy was soft and fluffy, but he felt sad.
“I want to be special,” Puffy said. “I wish I could shine like the sun and the stars. Everyone notices them, but nobody looks at me.”
One day, Puffy floated up to the sun. “Can I shine like you?” he asked.
The sun said, “I shine to give light and warmth. But you have your own job, little cloud.”
Puffy didn’t understand, so he floated to the stars. “Can I sparkle like you?” he asked.
The stars twinkled and said, “You don’t need to sparkle, Puffy. You’ll find your own way to help.”
Puffy felt sad. “I don’t think I’m special at all,” he said quietly.
The next day, Puffy floated over a village. It was very hot, and the people were sweating. Puffy had an idea. He stretched wide across the sky and blocked the sun, giving the village some shade. The people smiled and said, “Thank you, Puffy! You’re keeping us cool!”
Puffy felt happy. “I helped!” he thought.
Later, Puffy saw the plants and trees were very dry. “I can help again!” he said. Puffy grew dark and let out gentle rain. The people danced and laughed, saying, “Thank you for the rain, Puffy!”
That night, the Wind whispered to him, “See, Puffy? You don’t need to shine or sparkle. You’re special just the way you are.”
Puffy smiled, floating happily in the sky. He didn’t need to be like the sun or the stars—he was special in his own way.
